It startedwith ahatchback.
All we wanted was vinyl seat covers for our own car. We couldn't find any. This is how Trego Gear began.
How Trego started
One car. One search. Two ranges.

Our hatchback
It started with our own hatchback. We wanted the inside to look as sharp as the outside, and to stay that way.

The search
We were after vinyl seat covers: tough, quick to wipe clean and good-looking. We searched everywhere we could think of. We found fabric covers, baggy one-size covers, and custom covers that cost a lot and take weeks. Vinyl seat covers for a hatchback? We couldn't find any.

So we made our own
So we stopped searching and made them: black vinyl with a leather-look finish, proper stitching, and a fit that sits tight instead of sagging.

Trego Gear
That became Trego Gear. Today there are two VersaFit ranges: Elite in black vinyl with a leather-look finish, and Prestige in grey woven fabric with brown leather-look sides. Both fit most cars, bakkies and SUVs with standard front seats, and both go on in your driveway without tools.
If we couldn't find vinyl seat covers for our own hatchback, we knew we weren't the only ones.
